SUMMARY: One day
OVERVIEW: Zechariah encourages Israel that God would restore Jerusalem, bless their labor, and turn fasting into feasting.
BIG IDEA: Pursue truth and peace for God loves it, and the world needs it.
KEY VERSE: Zechariah 8:13 (God to Israel)
Among the other nations, Judah and Israel became symbols of a cursed nation. But no longer! Now I will rescue you and make you both a symbol and a source of blessing. So don’t be afraid. Be strong, and get on with rebuilding the Temple!
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Do not limit your hope or belief in me to what you see in front of you. The evil can pass away, and the good may be fleeting, but I endure forever. I am the one in whom you should place your hope. I am the one who makes old things news. I can breathe new life into tired relationships. I can heal the sick, and I can give you peace.
One day I will change everything. That day may be today, so always be ready. But you can know me and live with eternal hope. Develop strong hands and have a full heart. Work like it’s all up to you, but pray like it’s all up to me. Get set to serve, to laugh, to love, to live. But I also want you ready to wait on me. I am doing a new thing, and I invite you to be part of it. One day it will come to pass. Trust me today and live with expectations for tomorrow.
