Revelation 10

Revelation 10. How long?

Revelation 10:1-11

SUMMARYHow long?

OVERVIEWWe often ask how long until God brings judgment on the earth. We discover in this chapter that there will be no more delay.

BIG IDEAGod is always in control, even when things seem out of control.

KEY VERSERevelation 10:9 (Angel to John)
So I went to the angel and told him to give me the small scroll. “Yes, take it and eat it,” he said. “It will be sweet as honey in your mouth, but it will turn sour in your stomach!”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I know you wait and wait and wait for answers. I know you watch the news or hear family and friends tell stories, and you wonder why I am not more active in the world. I am more involved than you will ever know. But I have also been waiting for the right time to act. The longer I wait, the more time others have to turn to me. The end is coming, and when it does, it will be devastating. Pray for all to turn to me for hope and answers.

Discipline yourself to trust me in the hard times. Declare your faith when life is frustrating. I have not changed. I am the same God yesterday, today, and forever. I do allow evil to live in this world, but it won’t last forever. I, however, will. I am eternal. And when my kingdom comes, death will be defeated and evil destroyed. I want you to meditate on those words. May they give you comfort and encourage you to share that hope with others.

NEXT STEP
Think about times when you did not have the answers you wanted, yet things still turned out OK. Thank God for his power and love and ask him to help you trust him when life is challenging or confusing.
