IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I am king and creator. I bring life to you and everything you see. Yet many rush past me to worship the deity of the day. Some ignore me, believing I don’t exist or that I’m too complicated. Some mistake me for a building or set of rules. Sadly, others fear me and resist my effort to be in relationship with them. They don’t fear me in an honoring way—showing reverence and awe. They fear me because they believe the lies the enemy has shared about me.
It is true—I do discipline those who need it and punish those who live according to their own code. But I always do so in love. My goal in discipline is to remake and restore the one who has turned from me. I want a relationship with each person, and I pursue that. I am the one seeking those who claim to be lost. No one is lost. They just need to turn around to find me, for I am with them and always welcome them home with open arms.
Take frequent “praise” breaks throughout your day to thank God or to share with others what he has done (or is doing). You are doing it now, so go ahead and pick the next time today for a praise break.
