SUMMARY: Sing forever
OVERVIEW: The psalmist’s praise turns to doubt, wondering when God will fulfill his promise.
BIG IDEA: Don’t let circumstances remove your praise. All of heaven praises God—don’t be left out.
KEY VERSE: Psalm 89:8
O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies! Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O Lord? You are entirely faithful.
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Listen to the birds sing and look at the sky as far as you can see. Even if you are in a city, look straight up. The birds sing because I provide for them. The sky is majestic and expansive because I made it. And I made you—beautiful, powerful, capable—and provided my Spirit to strengthen you and guide you. Listen for my voice. You can hear me while you drive or change diapers or move to the sounds of the city. You can hear me and find me when you seek me. I have made it easy for you—I am in your midst.
You may feel like I’ve forgotten you. You may wonder why I don’t act quicker or in different ways. Sing songs of praise, even when it feels like I’m gone. Praise me in faith, knowing that I have not gone away, and I never will. I am faithful and I will provide for you today, tomorrow, and always.
