Psalm 8

Psalm 8:1-9

SUMMARYGod’s majesty

OVERVIEWGod’s magnificence is displayed through his creation. God is mighty and majestic, yet he cares for humanity.

BIG IDEAWe have value because God has given it to us.

KEY VERSEPsalm 8:3–4
When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I am worthy to be praised. Look around today at my creation. Even when you’re surrounded by buildings or the sky is overcast, my creation is revealed. I am creator of all. Look up. Look around. Look beyond what you immediately see. The moon, the stars, the vast universe are just some of my work. I love when you pause at a rainbow or sunset. You recognize they’re special and you get a glimpse of my majesty. Take those pictures and point out my work for others to see.

But I want you to do something else. Look in the mirror. Or take a picture of yourself and study it. I made you. I designed you to live a life of purpose. You are not a mistake. You are my child and I love you. I have plans that will excite you and sometimes may overwhelm you. But just as you look up to see see my creation, look up and call on me. I will give you power when you need it and wisdom when it’s required. Look to me for all you seek and desire.

NEXT STEP
Silently thank God for people you see today that you don’t know or don’t care for. Go out of your way to show kindness today because each person you see has value since they are loved by God.
