Psalm 78

Psalm 78:1-72

SUMMARYGod’s grace

OVERVIEWIsrael’s wilderness wanderings reveal Israel’s faithlessness and God’s faithfulness. God provides for Israel, even when Israel denies God.

BIG IDEAIn spite of us, God loves us.

KEY VERSEPsalm 78:38
Yet he was merciful and forgave their sins and did not destroy them all. Many times he held back his anger and did not unleash his fury!

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Do you remember what I’ve done in your life? Do you remember the ways I’ve provided for you and your family? Do not forget them. They are rocks for a firm foundation of your faith. I want them to serve as a constant reminder of my power, my presence, and my faithfulness. Many forget. And as a result, they have no foundation. They face the same struggles over and over and have no reference point for my previous provision. Don’t let that happen to you.

Besides recalling what I’ve done in your life, review what I’ve done throughout the Bible, and tell those stories. Pass them on as points of pride, that you know the King of the Universe. Let your children and friends know that I want to know them, too. Tell them I want to provide for them as well. I am gracious and merciful, but show me your faith. Step out and trust me based on my past provision.

NEXT STEP
Make a list of ways God has shown himself faithful to you. Invite your family or friends to add to the list.
