Psalm 63

Psalm 63:1-11

SUMMARYHealthy perspective

OVERVIEWEven in the midst of trials, David remembers God, he remembers to praise God, and he remembers to cling to God.

BIG IDEAThirst for God. Be quenched by God.

KEY VERSEPsalm 63:4
I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I want you to trust me and follow me regardless of where I lead you. I want you to step out in faith with confidence. You may be afraid at first, but after that first step, each one will be strengthened. Move forward and find out. I want you to know me in such a way that you hunger for and crave me. Let your growling stomach teach you a lesson. I want your soul to hunger for me in the same way—let it cry out. I want your thirst for water pale in comparison for how you want to be in my presence.

I know that the more you focus on me and follow me, the greater you will experience peace and joy. I give a full life. My desire for your praise will enrich and fulfill you. In the times when you feel overwhelmed and can’t imagine why I would allow such a thing to happen, thank me for being with you. I will never leave you or forsake you.

NEXT STEP
Instead of automatically praying for things you want or need, take time today to first reflect on God’s character and characteristics. Meditate on them and worship God for who he is.
