Psalm 62

Psalm 62:1-12

SUMMARYNot shaken

OVERVIEWDespite the evil intentions of David’s enemies, he will not be shaken.

BIG IDEALet God alone be your rock and salvation.

KEY VERSEPsalm 62:1–2
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I am the one who offers you true rest, hope, provision, and salvation. I am the rock you can run to and not fear. Relax and unwind, for I am your refuge. Nothing can knock you down when you are with me. You may bend, but you will not break. You may feel pain, but you will overcome.

I know you receive many offers throughout the day on all your devices, showing you how to get ahead through manipulation, or get-rich-quick schemes, or through “little” lies that won’t hurt anyone. No lie is little. No lie is harmless. Do not allow your heart to soften to their sweet offers. Death and decay lie behind them. I offer you myself. With that commitment comes my promise to provide what you need, when you need it. And it begins with rest. I want you to be still, wait on me, stop striving, sit in calm, and enjoy peace.

NEXT STEP
“O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge” (verse 8.) What is one area in which you need to pour out your heart to God? Take time to do that now and throughout the day.
