Psalm 149

Psalm 149:1-9

SUMMARYMultitask

OVERVIEWWe are commanded to praise God wherever we are.

BIG IDEAWe are to praise God at home, at church, and at work.

KEY VERSEPsalm 149:5
Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I love when you gather weekly with your brothers and sisters in the faith to bring me praise. There may be days you don’t feel like going to church, but cast those feelings aside. Seize the opportunity to sing to me and learn from my word and one another. It brings me great pleasure when you listen to and encourage others at church.

And don’t limit your praise to your time at church. Start and finish in your bed. Before you get up, be thankful for life and a new day. Before you go to bed, acknowledge my provision throughout your day. But widen your praise even further. You will spend the bulk of your day away from home at work or school or running errands. Let your praise pave the way for your day. Respond to each experience, whether good or bad, by acknowledging my presence in your life. Nothing will happen today outside of my allowance. Praise me that I am with you throughout the day.

NEXT STEP
Praise God in more than two settings today. Talk publicly about God’s goodness in different places—see if you can do at least three unique locations.
