Psalm 14:1-7

SUMMARYSearching

OVERVIEWThe foolishness of humanity.

BIG IDEAGod is available to all who seek him.

KEY VERSEPsalm 14:2
The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I can’t help but smile in this chapter. These words are direct but they need to be. Only a fool acts as if I do not exist. Not only am I here, but I love fools, too. I want to redirect them back to me. Even though you do believe in me, there are times you live like I don’t. That’s foolish.

Don’t be a fool. Instead, call on me. Make me your priority before making unwise choices. But if (and when) you do make an unwise choice, don’t live in your mess. I will help you out. Fools don’t think I am with them, but I am. Look up and look around. I am here. I am always present and eager to help. I am your refuge. You can always come to me. I will protect you from your enemy. I want to give you hope and joy that never ends. There is a God, and it is me, and I am here.

NEXT STEP
Today’s next step is simple. Take a look at your life and be honest: are you doing anything that is foolish? Are you living in any way that does not communicate that you believe in and follow God? Ask some friends what they think as you may have a blind spot.
