Psalm 136

Psalm 136:1-26

SUMMARYEnduring love

OVERVIEWA psalm of thanks for the grace of God and his amazing love.

BIG IDEAGod alone deserves our praise. He is faithful and his love endures forever.

KEY VERSEPsalm 136:1
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I love you and I will be with you forever. I created you and I will always provide what you need. You, however, have a habit of forgetting those things. You are quick to be overwhelmed by changes in your schedule or news that catches you off-guard. Nothing surprises me. When you learn of it, it has already passed through my filter. What you see or how you feel will not change my place in this world or in your life. My love and my provision endure forever.

Remind yourself of that truth today. And do the same tomorrow and the day after. I want you to learn to not be overwhelmed because you own the foundational truth of my place in your life. Think of all I’ve done in the past. Think of all I am doing right now. And imagine all that I am controlling that you never think about. If you had to deal with the smallest percentage of it, you would be overwhelmed. But you can rest. I am here. I am in control. And that won’t change because my love endures forever.

NEXT STEP
The power of this psalm is its repetition. Remind yourself throughout the day that God’s love endures forever. Text or call a friend or loved one several times today with the same reminder!
