Psalm 115

Psalm 115:1-18

SUMMARYGod’s world

OVERVIEWThis is God’s world and he can do whatever he pleases. If we don’t like God being in charge, we can create our own god, as shown in verses 4-8.

BIG IDEAThis is God’s world. Trust him and praise him always.

KEY VERSEPsalm 115:3
Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Trust in me—I am your help and your shield of protection. I know you and will not forget you. I know what you need. I know you better than you know yourself. I know what trips you up and what helps you keep in step. If you seek me, I will bless you. I will provide for you in marvelous ways. I want you and your family to grow and blossom. I want you to flourish and succeed in ways you never thought possible.

But you do have options. If you choose not to trust me, you can create your own god. Build one with the bits and pieces you like. Give it eyes and ears, though it will not be able to see or hear. Give it a mouth and hands, although it won’t be able to speak or protect. False gods only provide false hope. Turn to me and follow me. I am the one, true, living God.
