KEY VERSEPsalm 112:1
Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You have two choices in how to live, but they’re not really choices, are they? First option is to live like the wicked—those who go their own way. But they end up bitter, disappointed, and are forgotten. Their longings are never satisfied. But you have a second option. There is a better way.

The faithful—those who seek me and follow me—know I am for them and find delight in following me. Even when their flesh craves one thing, they seek to feed themselves what I offer. And when they do, they find hope even in trying times. They no longer fear bad news. They are not knocked down or overwhelmed by life’s circumstances. Their hearts are strong and they have no fear. They trust me and know I am over all. They become generous and look to satisfy the needs of those who hunger or search for meaning. Instead, they look to me for direction and comfort, and their hearts are settled and their souls are comforted. Turn to me and follow me. That is the one healthy choice to make.

NEXT STEP
Pause to think about one of your temptations. Think about what will happen and how your life and the lives of others could be affected if you gave in to that temptation. Then thank God for his commands and ask his help in submitting to him and his way.
