Psalm 106

Psalm 106:1-48

SUMMARYPatient

OVERVIEWA history lesson of Israel’s disobedience and God’s faithfulness.

BIG IDEADon’t forget God’s goodness and faithfulness.

KEY VERSEPsalm 106:43–45
Again and again he rescued them, but they chose to rebel against him, and they were finally destroyed by their sin. Even so, he pitied them in their distress and listened to their cries. He remembered his covenant with them and relented because of his unfailing love.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Don’t try to prove my faithfulness. I am faithful and I do not change. Don’t run from me and wonder if I’ll receive you when you return. Don’t turn your back to me and live according to your own rules, wondering if my love will change. I love you and will forever be available to you. But when you sin you hurt yourself and those around you. You also build a wall between us. The wall can be removed, but why spend time running from me when I am all you need?

I want you to remember my kindness in your life. Remember how I’ve provided—again and again—despite your indifference or reluctance to follow me. Even when you grumble I will not leave you. I invite you to rise above your selfishness. Show your faithfulness to me. I have patiently waited for you to respond to my love. Show me you love me by how you live and how you invest in others.

NEXT STEP
Remember God’s faithfulness, thank him for it, and seek to model it. Is there a relationship in your life that challenges you? Ask God to help you show his love in it.
