SUMMARY: I will
OVERVIEW: David commits to a life of godliness and faithfulness, focusing on what he will do and what he will not do.
BIG IDEA: Choose to live for God today.
KEY VERSE: Psalm 101:3
I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them.
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You make choices every day, multiple times a day, determining what you will say, what you will think about, and how you will live. Choose to follow me. Seek me and my way, and I will give you the strength and ability to live for me. Don’t strive for perfection. You’ll fall short every time. Strive to be in relationship with me. Focus on the fact that I love you and care about what you say, think, and do.
The people who know you best are those you live with. They know your triggers and they know your indulgences. This may surprise you, but they even know many of your secrets. If you want to grow in your faith, practice loving them and showing them kindness. Don’t live your life in solitude. Let some trusted friends know you want to walk closer with me and give them regular updates. Celebrate your victories and start anew when you fail.
NEXT STEP
What one thing will you do (or not do) to grow in your faith today or over the next month? Ask God for wisdom and then share with some friends and ask them to pray for you.
