Proverb 2

Proverbs 2:1-22

SUMMARYPath

OVERVIEWWe are invited to follow God on his path for wisdom and avoid the way of folly.

BIG IDEAThe path of wisdom is God’s gift to us and leads to life.

KEY VERSEProverb 2:4–5
Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
My path is well-lit. It is paved. It provides the necessary signage. It evens has a snack bar and restroom. My way is all you need. Stay on my path. It will give you wisdom and knowledge. My path offers success and a shield from enemies. I will guard and protect you from fear. My path is what you want and need. There will be plenty of times you’ll be tempted to go another way, on a road you’ll think is shorter or more enjoyable. But every time you choose another route, you will be disappointed.

My path protects you from the “strange women” of the world—they come in all shapes and sizes. They have agendas and know how to lure you. You’ll convince yourself that what happened to a friend won’t happen to you, and you’ll be right. But they knew how to tempt your friend, and they’ll have a new trap set for you. Their path leads to destruction, and my path leads to life. Follow me.

NEXT STEP
Ask a friend to help you choose a healthy path for life and to correct you when you begin to stray. Ask that friend to pray for you continually.
