IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Your words matter. They have the power to heal, soothe, comfort, encourage, instruct, inspire, and bring joy. Or they can tear down and destroy. Don’t be a person who says something harmful and follows it up with “just kidding.” If you are angry or frustrated with someone, talk to that person in private. But outside of resolving conflict, work hard to share words of love and comfort.

I see everything—nothing is hidden. And that’s not a negative. While it does keep you accountable for unhealthy choices, it also acknowledges the encouragement that is whispered, the praise that is mouthed, and the inside joke that brings a smile to a friend’s face. Guard your heart and mind. Feed it healthy food because it fuels your words. You will find great joy in the power of a timely, kind word. Be gracious in how you speak to others because everyone you see today is someone I love. Encourage them for me.

NEXT STEP
Choose your words wisely. Are there any apologies you need to make for some poor or insensitive word choices? Who is someone you can encourage or compliment today?
