Numbers 8:1-26

SUMMARYTeammates

OVERVIEW: The Levites assisted the priests in work in and around the Tabernacle and temple.

BIG IDEAEveryone has a purpose and value.

KEY VERSENumbers 8:21–22 (working together)
They may assist their brothers in performing their duties at the tent of meeting, but they themselves must not do the work. This, then, is how you are to assign the responsibilities of the Levites.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
The Levites had a specific role in worship, and you have one, too. You are to be part of a church body, and you and each person in the church are to fulfill a valued role. No task or person has more worth or value—everyone is needed. Do not look down on your part or minimize its importance. And do not think of anyone higher or lower than you should. Celebrate the excellent ministry performed by others and encourage them. Support those whose effort needs refining and remind them of their importance.

Be an encourager and supporter, and serve with joy, for I have given you a role that can make an eternal difference in many lives. Be active in the body, assisting, leading, and training others to work together for my glory. Good teammates are a blessing and generate energy and fuel that strengthen the body in your town and around the world.

NEXT STEP
Appreciate those who serve with you. Invite your teammates over for dinner or plan an outing where you can enjoy getting to know one another at a deeper level.
