Numbers 29:1-40

SUMMARYAnnual celebrations

OVERVIEW: Moses shares God’s instructions with the people on how to worship God during Israel’s major festivals.

BIG IDEAWorship God daily, but also remember and celebrate God’s faithfulness throughout history.

KEY VERSEPsalm 89:15–16 (Ethan to God)
Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation. They exult in your righteousness.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You have much to be thankful for in your life and much to celebrate. Take time to acknowledge my gifts to you, my faithfulness, and my provision. Point out all that I have done throughout history for humanity. Celebrate with loud parties or with soft reflections, but keep me and my deeds as the focus of your celebration. It’s easy to gather a group yet forget the reason for the party, so amidst the fun and the food, encourage one another to remain faithful to me.

Break out in celebration at random, spontaneous times because it is healthy to have  a thankful mentality. But I also want you to set aside time to remember. Israel had numerous holidays they would observe. Choose similar ones or identify new days to honor me. Put in the time and effort to make it memorable—a day that all look forward to. Remembering all I’ve done and continue to do will give you a healthy heart and mind.

NEXT STEP
Share your faith story today. Tell someone about God’s faithfulness—your coming to faith story or one of many ways God has provided for you.
