BIG IDEAEarthly kings come and go but the King of the world reigns forever.

KEY VERSENahum 2:13 (God to Ninevah)
“I am against you,” declares the Lord Almighty. “I will burn up your chariots in smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions. I will leave you no prey on the earth. The voices of your messengers will no longer be heard.”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You may have a strong army, a foolproof plan, and a guaranteed way of escape, if necessary. You may have checked and rechecked all the details to ensure success. You may have had others affirm your plan and congratulate your wisdom. They may have even toasted to your success. Enjoy that brief moment of satisfaction, for it will not last. When I bring judgment, there is no escape. Your warriors will trip over themselves. Your escape route will be blocked. You will be harmless, like a toothless lion. You will be unable to defend yourself.

Stop planning on how to win and humble yourself before me. My judgment does not have to be for you. I invite you to my family. I want to protect you and provide for you. I want to give you a new direction in your life. Use your gifts and talents for good. Come to me, surrender, and let me lift and guide you.

NEXT STEP
God is to be feared, but he also loves and cares for you. Recognize him as your leader and submit to his ways. Honor him today as Lord of all.
