Micah 3. corrupt

Micah 3:1-12

SUMMARYCorrupt

OVERVIEWMicah challenges the spiritual leaders who only prophesy when it benefits them.

BIG IDEAJesus’ followers must lead people towards God, not away from him.

KEY VERSEMicah 3:4 (Micah to Israel)
Then you beg the Lord for help in times of trouble! Do you really expect him to answer? After all the evil you have done, he won’t even look at you!

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I love all and offer hope and renewal to each person. But when someone refuses my offer and intentionally hurts or hinders those who seek me, I will give them the freedom they seek. I will turn from them and allow them to live apart from me. If they ever change their minds, I will welcome them back. But those who lead my people astray and seek to benefit from wickedness will face judgment.

Don’t be like them. You will not find fun through hurt and betrayal. It is disgraceful when others provide poor leadership and only look out for themselves. I am the one filled with power. I am the one who offers life. Whatever you need you can find in me. Reject the bribes or favors from those who twist the truth. They only befriend you when it serves their needs. I love my people. Love them and lead them and help them with humility. Let others see me through your life.

NEXT STEP
Regardless of your leadership position, you will be held accountable. Lead faithfully, truthfully, and humbly in whatever role you have. Ask God to help you lead effectively, and ask him to forgive any areas in which you fall short and help you overcome them.
