Mark 9

Mark 9. Possible

Mark 9:1-50

SUMMARY: Possible

OVERVIEWThree of Jesus’ disciples get a glimpse of his divinity when he transfigures before them. Jesus later reminds a father that God can do all things.

BIG IDEA: Put your faith in God and keep your eyes on him and not on your consequences.

KEY VERSEMark 9:23–24 (Jesus and father speak)
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You can think bigger. Much bigger. Anything is possible for me. Yes, this world is small and temporary and limited, but you are no longer of this world. With me, there are no limits. There are no impossibles. I am with you and want you to look to me and expect me to provide what you need when you need it.

Still, don’t beat yourself up for doubting. Doubt is not the end of the world. Everyone has doubts, and I can handle your doubts. If you doubt, you still believe. I can take that little belief and grow it into a world-changing faith. Bring me your doubts. Renew your trust in me every day, and don’t walk away. Instead, walk with me. Let me clear your vision to see all I am doing in the world and your life. I will turn your doubt into hope and your hope into faith.

NEXT STEP
Be honest with God about your fears or doubts or the areas in which you struggle to trust God. Renew your trust in him and ask him for more faith. Focus on Jesus.
