Mark 13. Spirit-filled

Mark 13:1-37

SUMMARYSpirit-filled

OVERVIEWJesus warned his disciples to be prepared and alert so that they are not deceived.

BIG IDEARegardless of circumstances, continue to look to God and trust him.

KEY VERSEMark 13:11 (Jesus speaks to his disciples)
But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You don’t have to be fearful or defensive about your faith in me. Many will not understand. Some will bully you. Others will belittle you. But don’t be afraid. You are tuned in to me. I am teaching you and leading you. By my Spirit in you, I will help you respond in the right way.

There is chaos around you because the world is out of control, so remember that I am ultimately in control. There are wars and great tragedies, so remember that I am the giver of peace. There are unspeakable evil and hatred, so remember my radical love. This world wasn’t made to last forever. Destruction is imminent, so remember that I am your savior. As things get worse, lost people will become less and less tolerant of faithful believers. Still, be faithful. I will strengthen you. You are my child, and I love you more than the most deep-seated human love. Watch for me and be faithful. I am your home. Live in me.
