Malachi 3. thieves

Malachi 3:1-18

SUMMARYThieves

OVERVIEWGod tells Israel they have robbed from him by not offering their tithe. Israel thought they were blameless, but God revealed their sin.

BIG IDEAReturn to God—he will always welcome you.

KEY VERSEMalachi 3:10 (God to the Israelites)
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
One thing I never want you to forget is that I am faithful. You can count on me—always. I keep my promises and will provide what you need today and tomorrow. Stop worrying and wondering if you’ll have enough. You have me, so focus on what I’m calling you to do today. Focus on my faithfulness and be faithful in your life, too.

Before you pay bills or imagine how you might spend money you receive or earn, give me a portion. Give generously, joyfully, and with enthusiasm. Don’t give out of obligation or as a way to appease me, hoping money will continue to arrive. Give because you love me. Give because you’re thankful. Give as an act of worship and devotion. I am the one who provided a gift or the ability to work. I am the one who gives you the health and stamina to perform. I am the one who loves you today, tomorrow, and forever.

NEXT STEP
Are you withholding anything from God? Whether spiritual or physical, it all belongs to God. Give joyfully and faithfully.
