Malachi 2:1-17

SUMMARYDespised

OVERVIEWThe priests were to be voices of hope, preserving knowledge, and sharing the instruction of the Lord. Instead, they turned away from God and caused others to stumble.

BIG IDEAGod calls his followers to be a voice of hope to the world.

KEY VERSEMalachi 2:7 (God to priests)
The words of a priest’s lips should preserve knowledge of God, and people should go to him for instruction, for the priest is the messenger of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You are my chosen one. I have called you not only to follow me but also to equip others to do the same. I want you to know me. Seek me, and you will find me. Call on me, and I will reply. But don’t live independently. You are part of a body, and what you say and do impacts those around you. Even your thoughts shape your words and actions. Discipline yourself to seek me and to think about my words from the Bible. Let those truths permeate your soul. Think about me and invite me to speak to you.

When you disregard me and my purpose for your life, there will be discipline. I do this in love because I want you to follow me and know that I offer you an incomparable life. But if you despise me, I will let you go your way. Just know I love you and always invite you to turn back to me.

NEXT STEP
If you are prone to turn from God, stop, and consider why. Evaluate what is happening and look for any reasons you may be doing this. Ask God and others for help.
