KEY VERSELuke 3:21–22 (Jesus’ baptism)
One day when the crowds were being baptized, Jesus himself was baptized. As he was praying, the heavens opened, and the Holy Spirit, in bodily form, descended on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
My love is not based on your performance. I am equipping you to do mighty things in this life that have an eternal impact. But I love you before you have done anything and whether you do anything or not. I am proud of you because you are my child. Your journey may not be comfortable, but I will get you where you need to go, one step at a time. I have a plan and a purpose for you. Let my love motivate you to follow me.

Identify with me. Let others know who I am and that we’re connected. Let them see my love empower you to think and live differently. Have hope in each day, knowing that I am with you and that nothing happens that catches me off guard. Be excited about our relationship and share what I’ve done for you and the fulfillment and direction you have found in me. Let others know who I am, what I have done for you, and what I can do for them. I forgive, I restore, I heal, I give purpose, and I love beyond reason.

NEXT STEP
Have you been baptized? If not, make plans to do so today. Invite everyone you know to come and watch. If you have been, think of something you can do this week to remind people you are a follower of Jesus. Can you change a bad attitude or behavior? Encourage someone? Serve someone? Share your story or listen to someone else’s? You decide.
