Leviticus 5

Leviticus 5:1-19

SUMMARYConfess

OVERVIEW: When we become aware of our sin, we must take action through the guilt (trespass) offering regardless of our intention to sin. 1 John 1:9 wonderfully illustrates God’s faithfulness and his response to our confession.

BIG IDEA: Don’t ignore your sin—confess it and seek forgiveness.

KEY VERSE1 John 1:9 (God’s promise)
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Come to me day or night from any location. I will be with you, and I will be listening. You no longer have to follow the laws Moses taught or fulfill the requirements he lists. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. He provided all you need. Now you can speak and confess directly to me. Don’t lose sight of the magnitude of what I am saying. I invite you—my creation—to talk to me—the God of the universe. Take me up on my offer, and do it frequently.

I know you and everything about you, yet I love you. So don’t be hesitant when you speak with me. Be direct, open, and honest, and let me heal you. Don’t let pride prevent you from sharing with me, and don’t let your ego think you’ve arrived. There is so much I have done in your life, and so much more I am yet to do. You are my work of clay, and you will be a rock in the lives of many. Follow me and stay open to all I want to do today.

NEXT STEP
God’s forgiveness is real, and his mercy is abundant. It can be easy to take God’s forgiveness for granted. Instead, take time today to thank God for all he has done. Celebrate his blessing and live as a forgiven person by extending forgiveness to another.
