KEY VERSELeviticus 23:3 (God to Israelites)
You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of complete rest, an official day for holy assembly. It is the Lord’s Sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You may get busy, but don’t let your schedule become too full. Don’t become so active that you forget who I am, what I’ve done, and what my ongoing role is to be in your life. Don’t limit your devotion to the moment you surrendered your life to me. That was meaningful—for you and me—but I want more. I want ongoing obedience, and you need it, too. Temporary compliance isn’t true submission. You only had to surrender one time for us to begin a relationship. But I want a lifetime of obedience so you can experience the plans I have for you.

Take time to stop. Take time to remember who I am and what I’ve done. Remember why you need me—in your life and the world. Do that consistently. It begins with the Sabbath. Stop and remember. Stop and praise. Stop and enjoy. Stop and be still. Remember who I am and that I will be with you always.

NEXT STEP
Thank God today for what he has done in your life, and pray for what he is yet to do. Alter your schedule today to allow brief moments to pause and pray.
