SUMMARYDefective gifts

BIG IDEA
God deserves our best. Don’t offer anything less.

KEY VERSELeviticus 22:9 (God to Moses)
The priests must follow my instructions carefully. Otherwise they will be punished for their sin and will die for violating my instructions. I am the Lord who makes them holy.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You are my priest. I have appointed all of my children as believer-priests, set apart to serve me. This is a blessing! It is a gift to you. Serve in a way that brings me honors and pleasure. I love when you put others first. I love when you sacrifice to give or serve. I love when you do so with a thankful, joy-filled heart. Your laughter pleases me. It makes me smile and is contagious to those around you.

Don’t serve me haphazardly or thoughtlessly. Prepare for your service and plan for it. When you do, I’ll also equip you to serve me in spontaneous as well. Those are faith-inducing experiences—get ready for those! Just don’t serve me out of obligation or guilt. You do not have to serve me, but you will find fulfillment through service. You will find satisfaction when you sacrifice or deny yourself and give me your best. I’ve created you with gifts, and your life is full when you use them in a humble, faithful, honest way.

NEXT STEP
Review your calendar for the month. Be sure you have times set aside at church or in your community. Pray that you have a servant’s attitude today in all you do.
