Leviticus 15

Leviticus 15:1-33

SUMMARYSecret sins

OVERVIEWThe chapter addresses bodily discharges (mentioned 24x) that made Israel unclean (mentioned 29x).

BIG IDEAWe cannot hide anything from God. All details matter.

KEY VERSEPsalm 139:23–24 (David’s prayer)
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I want all of you. I want you to fully surrender everything: your heart, your desires, your goals, your dreams, your fantasies. I am making you into the person I created you to be. Confess your sins and receive my forgiveness and healing. I love you.

When you receive forgiveness through Jesus, you get it all. You get a new heart and mind, the Holy Spirit, a spiritual family to love and who will love you. You receive gifts to share with others and renewed vision for life. You receive the ability to love and forgive those you previously disliked. But you also gain an enemy. Satan and his demons will do everything to distract you and dissuade you. They will offer alternatives that provide temporary happiness but ongoing disappointment. Resist the devil and flee from his temptations, but don’t run aimlessly. Run to me. My arms are open, and I will receive you and protect you. I am all you want or need. Be honest with me and let me lead you.

NEXT STEP
Invite God to search your heart, to reveal any unconfessed sin. Take time to be still before God and respond as God’s Holy Spirit leads. Thank him for his forgiveness and grace.
