KEY VERSESLamentations 3:22–23 (The poet’s thankful praise)
The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I know the pain you feel, and I hear your cries for help. I know you feel overwhelmed by your circumstances and are desperate for a way out. Some of your anguish is self-inflicted or the natural consequences of poor decisions. Other angst is the result of living in a sin-filled world. But through all of it, I am with you. You are never alone, and as long as you look to me, you are never without hope.

My love and compassion are always “on.” They never turn off. Each day, a new supply awaits you, and each night a never-ending reserve is at your disposal. You will never be forgotten or ignored. Face your reality with the truth that I am with you. You may experience grief, but I will provide the love, strength, and compassion you need. Turn to me in your trials and acknowledge my presence and power. You are never alone.

NEXT STEP
Today is a new day. Look to God for direction and comfort, and don’t be troubled by your past. Thank God for the forgiveness of your past and lay your hopes for your future before him.
