Judges 7

Judges 7:1-25

SUMMARY300

OVERVIEWGod reduced Gideon’s army from 32,000 to 300 to reveal his power and provision.

BIG IDEAWhen God is on your side, the size of the enemy doesn’t matter.

KEY VERSEJudges 7:2 (God to Gideon)
The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength.”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
It is good to have a team. It is a blessing, and it’s essential to build one that will support and encourage you. But don’t rely on them over me. I am all you need. I am the one who will provide. I am your ultimate supplier—not your skills, personality, friends, or bank account. I am a jealous God and want everyone to know who I am and what I do.

So enjoy your team and be a valuable teammate to others, but stay focused on me. The more time you spend with me and get to know my character, the more you will learn to trust my will and my ways for your life. Follow me as I lead. I have great plans for you, even if they do not always make sense. My path may appear to be circular or direct you towards unfamiliar roads, but I am taking you where you need to go to best serve me.

NEXT STEP
Is there a step of faith you’re afraid to take or feel intimidated to do so? Review how God provided for Gideon and the ways God has provided for you or others in the past. Ask God for courage and then take that step.
