SUMMARY: Trustworthy
OVERVIEW: Forty-eight cities are designated where the Levites could live and raise their livestock.
BIG IDEA: God is a promise keeper.
KEY VERSE: Joshua 21:45 (powerful reminder)
Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Don’t miss the big idea in this chapter. I want it to encourage you and remind you what is true today and always. Some may think the content from this chapter is boring and nothing more than a list, but it is so much more—it is my resume of faithfulness. I provided just as I promised. I delivered just as I said. Do you know the promises I have for you? I will honor them. I will fulfill them.
Celebrate that good news and review the promises that are most meaningful to you. Look for others who are down or lack confidence and remind them of my commitment to love them and lead them if they ask. Just as I was faithful to Israel, so will I be to you, as well. That’s why my word is so important. It contains truth and promises for you to know, to enjoy, and to share.
