They did not drive the Canaanites out of Gezer, however, so the people of Gezer live as slaves among the people of Ephraim to this day.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
A half-truth is a whole lie, and a job half-done is incomplete. When I guide and instruct you, don’t just choose the parts you want to obey. Follow me completely. I have plans for you, but they require your full attention and complete obedience.

You may be motivated and inclined to do the things I ask because you want to do them. But it’s the things you don’t want to do that will make a difference in your life and build your faith. Trust is essential—put your hope in me. Complete obedience may not make sense, but I am at work in your life and the lives of those around you. You won’t always see a direct result to your faithfulness, but it will grow your heart and exercise faith muscles that need regular activity. Focus on pleasing me rather than listening to what others say or think. I love you and have plans for you. Follow me and watch me fulfill them.

NEXT STEP
Follow through on what God asks. Is there something God has directed you to do, but you have only partially obeyed (or completely disobeyed)? Trust God and complete the task today.
