Joshua 12:1-24

OVERVIEWGod’s faithfulness extended throughout Israel’s promised land campaign. This chapter lists the defeat of 31 kings and their land.

BIG IDEAGod always comes through.

KEY VERSEJoshua 12:1 (Just as God promised)
These are the kings east of the Jordan River who had been killed by the Israelites and whose land was taken. Their territory extended from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon and included all the land east of the Jordan Valley.

I was loyal to Israel, and I will be dependable for you. Just as I faithfully provided for Israel, I will do the same for you. Don’t be surprised when I come through. In fact, I want you to begin to anticipate it. Look to me with high expectations. Step out in faith and wait for me to provide as I lead you today.

I know your pain and what fears you hang onto. I am aware of your challenges and those amongst your friends and family. Bring those concerns to me—leave nothing behind. I want you to have faith. I want you to trust me so that you can rest in me. Don’t rest only because I will supply what is needed. Rest because of my character. Rest because I am trustworthy. Rest because you recognize I am your best answer. Rest because you are aware that I love you and am with you.

Do you have difficulty believing one of God’s promises? Find it in the Bible (ask for help if you need or try Google) and read through it and pray to God about it. Ask God to help you trust him and to remember that he is faithful.
