Joshua 11

Joshua 11:1-23

SUMMARYNot intimidated

OVERVIEWDespite the overwhelming odds, God gives Israel victory over the armies from the north.

BIG IDEAGod follows through on his promises.

KEY VERSEJoshua 11:23 (God fulfilled his promise)
So Joshua took control of the entire land, just as the Lord had instructed Moses. He gave it to the people of Israel as their special possession, dividing the land among the tribes. So the land finally had rest from war.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I promised to be with you, and I am a promise keeper. When you face a challenge, look to me. Regardless of the size of your enemy or obstacle, I will be with you. Make it your habit, as regular as breathing, to turn to me for wisdom, guidance, and strength. Your challenge won’t be as overwhelming when you focus on me instead of your problem.

Don’t think a task or challenge is impossible. Your enemies may surround you—or you may be overwhelmed by work or responsibilities. You may be sure there is no escape. And if you do, you’re spending too much time focused on the wrong object. As long as I am on your side, the size and strength of the enemy does not matter. Look to me and do not fear. I may not respond as you want, but I will provide as you need. Seek me and obey me.

NEXT STEP
Take time to talk to God about a challenge or worry that consumes you. Ask for God’s help and then seek times of quiet throughout the day to listen for ways God may want you to respond.
