BIG IDEAJesus is God and worthy to be followed.

KEY VERSEJohn 8:12 (Jesus to Pharisees)
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

There is no need to stumble around in the darkness. When you follow me, there is plenty of bright light to show you where to go. The dark days of selfish, empty living are over. I am fully present in your life, here to protect you and guide you. I will light the path. Follow me and see clearly. You have other choices, but they won’t give you what you want or need. Even if those paths appear bright now, they will quickly turn dark.

Do not be swayed by others or distracted from what is true. When you let me lead you in battle, I make it clear where the enemy is and give you all you need for victory. When you choose to follow me, I put you in fruitful fields of love, grace, forgiveness, fulfillment, and joy that transcend circumstances. When you seek my counsel, I, the creator of everything, give you wisdom. Let me be the light of peace, purpose, and purity in your world.

Be honest with yourself and God for a few moments. Is there a sin or temptation darkening your life? Confess it to God and submit yourself to him. Seek out a trusted friend and ask for prayer and accountability.
