SUMMARYDivision

OVERVIEWJesus goes to the temple court during the Feast of Tabernacles and declares to be the living water. The crowd is unsure of how to respond. Some want him dead, others are unsure, but the wise choose to follow him.

BIG IDEALive an undivided life and follow Jesus.

KEY VERSEJohn 7:12–13 (People question Jesus’ identity)
There was a lot of grumbling about him among the crowds. Some argued, “He’s a good man,” but others said, “He’s nothing but a fraud who deceives the people.” But no one had the courage to speak favorably about him in public, for they were afraid of getting in trouble with the Jewish leaders.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I will put you in the right place at the right time. When appropriate, share your story of faith in me. It will impact others in powerful ways. Some won’t understand. Some will label you and dismiss you. Some may even insult you or marginalize you. But don’t miss the opportunities I provide for you to identify with Jesus and share your story. Not everyone will respond at that moment as we want, but seeds will have been planted. And everyone will know that I am real.

There will come a day when all will recognize Jesus as Lord and worship him. Until then, many will doubt and question my existence, identity, and value. But some will trust me because of what they see and hear from you. Others will continue to wrestle with me, but we will continue to love them. Be ready to share your story in a sincere, relational way. When you do, trust that I am using you to impact others, and pray for all you meet.

NEXT STEP
Take a moment to write down one sentence answers to the following questions. There is no need to exaggerate or embellish.

  1. What was your life like before you met Jesus?
  2. How did you come to know Christ?
  3. What is your life like now?

When God gives you the opportunity, share your story.
