OVERVIEWJesus mourns with Mary and Martha and later raises Lazarus from the dead. Once the Jewish leaders hear the news of the miracle, they begin to plot Jesus’ death.

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
It may appear that the world around you is crashing, but remember that I am still holding it together. Nothing happens outside of my knowledge. I know you, your situation, what you need, and when you need it. When you feel overwhelmed or defeated or confused or angry or defeated, there is always hope for a new life. Look to me for guidance and direction.

I am your power to rise and live. I can free you from the destruction of addiction, the bitterness of betrayal, the rage from abuse, the emptiness of selfish living, the ache of loneliness, the numbness of loss. I do not offer you a snap-of-the-fingers cure for all your problems or a pain-free life. My freedom comes through relationship, faith, and trusting through good times and the bad. I am the creator of life. Commit yourself to me and live. Turn to me and have hope and peace and something to offer those who feel defeated.

When was the last time you took a moment to celebrate the gift of eternal life that God has given you through faith in Christ? Give God thanks that you don’t have to live in fear or confusion about death. Think of loved ones who have passed, and thank God that you will see them again in heaven. Thank God for the eternal impact your life can have today. Thank God that you can experience his total and complete presence forever.
