Job 41

Job 41

Job 41:1-34

SUMMARY
Can you?

OVERVIEW
God asks Job if he can tame some of his large creatures. If Job cannot, why would he think he can control God?

BIG IDEA
We are—clearly—not God’s equal.

KEY VERSEJob 41:11 (Job to God)
Who has given me anything that I need to pay back? Everything under heaven is mine.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I love you and invite you to come to me at all times and express all you think and feel. But part of your faith development will be finding contentment in the reality that you are not the center of the universe. The world does not revolve around you, so everything will not go your way. Everyone will not give you what you believe you deserve. And I will not always respond the way you desire, regardless of your perseverance or intensity. Faith is trusting that I know all and will work everything out towards my purpose for the world.

There are people or places or circumstances that cause you to fear. There are animals or personalities or projects or family dynamics that humble you. I fear nothing, and nothing humbles me. Everyone and everything submits to me. Take solace in the fact that the all-powerful one knows you and loves you. Trust me with your most significant and smallest concerns. Nothing is too big or too small. I welcome them all.

NEXT STEP
Think of something you cannot control and recognize that God can. Give thanks that God, all-powerful and almighty, invites you to be in a relationship with him. Ask God for help in any area of need.
