Job 12

Job 12:1-25

SUMMARYIn control

OVERVIEWJob understands God is in control, but he feels like his friends are mocking him.

BIG IDEAAll wisdom comes from God, and he is in control.

KEY VERSEJob 12:13 (Job to friends)
But true wisdom and power are found in God; counsel and understanding are his.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Yes, I do have all wisdom and power. I am the one who gives and sustains life. I am who you need when you are lost or troubled. Always. My creation speaks of this. Watch how the animals anticipate seasons. Look at the stars in the sky, or travel to see the natural beauty of my world. Or close your eyes and let me speak to you.

I remind you of these things because you will be frequently distracted. You face enough challenges through the natural rhythms of life, yet well-meaning people will also frustrate you. They will distort my words or speak about me in ways they’ve heard but never experienced. Frequently, these are my children who profess to follow me. And most of the time they unintentionally hurt you. Their hearts are in the right spot, but I know that does not ease the pain. That’s why I want you to focus on me. I am the one in control. I am the one you need today.

NEXT STEP
Recognize there is tension in faith. God knows all, but we don’t understand why God does what he does. Take time right now and throughout the day to speak honestly with God about how you feel and what concerns you.
