KEY VERSEJeremiah 5:30–31 (God’s analysis)
A horrible and shocking thing has happened in this land— the prophets give false prophecies, and the priests rule with an iron hand. Worse yet, my people like it that way! But what will you do when the end comes?

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
My eyes are open. I look near and far for a faithful person, someone who will trust me and follow me. Instead, I find faithlessness. I want to offer forgiveness, but many turn their back to me. Don’t be among them. Don’t be like those who exchange me for false gods, who mock and trivialize my ways. I continue to supply your needs faithfully. Respond with gratitude and surrender to me.

Don’t close your eyes and ears to my truth. Instead, have a healthy fear of me and my ways. I am the creator and all-powerful. I have established boundaries for the sea and borders for the waves. Yet, the evil in the world has no end. The spiritual teachers and leaders lead people astray with little to no concern for my response. I will bring judgment, but I invite you to turn to me. Be the faithful one I am seeking. I am not expecting perfection. I want your heart, and I invite you to follow me.

NEXT STEP
In what ways have you dismissed God and ignored him? Take a few minutes to reflect quietly. Ask God to search your heart. Ask for forgiveness of anything God brings to mind. Surrender to him today. Thank God for his faithfulness, even when you are unfaithful.
