Isaiah 8

Isaiah 8:1-22

SUMMARYTwo choices

OVERVIEW: This is a chapter of comparisons where Israel chooses to ignore God and follows the path of men. Still, God makes himself available to all who choose to turn to him.

BIG IDEAEach decision reveals your choice to fear God or to fear people.

KEY VERSEIsaiah 8:13 (God to Isaiah)
Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
If you love me, you will obey me, for I have great plans for you. But, of course, the world makes the same offer. You get to choose each day, but is it a choice? Do the gifts and offerings of the world truly satisfy? Or are they a temporary fix? I recognize that following me is not always glamorous, easy, or peaceful, but it is always wise. And in the end, my followers will not only have more than they asked for or could imagine, but they will have it for eternity.

I love you, and I want to empower you to make an eternal impact in this world. I want people to see me and hear about me because of your faithfulness. But it won’t be easy. It will be painful. And it will sometimes—more often than you want—be confusing. But it will also be fantastic. Follow me today.
