Isaiah 6

Isaiah 6:1-13

SUMMARYSend me

OVERVIEW: Amid praises to God by the seraphim, God seeks someone to be his messenger. Isaiah makes himself available, and God commissions him.

BIG IDEA: We are not worthy of following God, but he makes us worthy.

KEY VERSEIsaiah 6:8 (God and Isaiah)
Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I want you to have a greater understanding of my holiness, power, and might. I want you to join with the angels and give me praise. All may be chaotic around you, but I remain in control of all. The more you understand who I am, the quicker you will recognize who you are. Humble yourself before me. Confess your sin to me, and let me heal and restore you. You may be guilty of sin, but I have made you a saint, my child whom I love.

Be faithful to what I am calling you to do. It won’t always be easy. I can guarantee that. But I can also promise to be with you. Have your bags packed and ready to go at a moment’s notice. I may never ask you to move neighborhoods or to another country, but I may want you to move across the room to talk to a person in need. I want you to be ready to follow me and go where I am working. A faith-filled, adventurous life will stretch you, but follow me and experience the thrill your soul and heart desire.

NEXT STEP
Confess any sin of pride or fear and make yourself available to God. Pray that God would give you eyes to see where he is at work in your world and the courage to get involved.
