OVERVIEW: God will use Cyrus, a foreign king, to accomplish his plan of protecting Israel and showing his glory to the world. Everyone will know there is no God except the God of heaven. Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess praise to God.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I know you are busy, and I know you can get overwhelmed and stressed. I know there are times you are dissatisfied with life and bored throughout the week. I even know you feel guilty about those things. The guilt is not coming from me, however. Don’t work harder trying to please me or go through the motions with religious activity, hoping I will answer your prayer. Many people pray, never knowing whether or not I exist or hear them. I do hear your prayers, so talk to me about what’s going on.
I answer your prayers by saying “yes” and “no.” “No” is an answer. It may not be what you want but pray with confidence. You are not only talking to the God of the universe who knows all and creates all, but I am also the one who knows you and loves you. I will do what is best for you and my kingdom. I am the Lord of all. Worship me and give me thanks. And know that I am with you always.

Evaluate how you think about God. When you talk about God or think about him, is it a god created in your image, or is it the God revealed in the Bible? Take time today to review verses 5-7 and 21-23. Think about them. Let them be the basis for your prayers. Then, talk to God about who he is and ask him to give you more of an understanding of who he is.
