SUMMARYShortsighted

BIG IDEAYour actions today can positively or negatively affect others.

KEY VERSEIsaiah 39:6 (God to Hezekiah)
“The time is coming when everything in your palace—all the treasures stored up by your ancestors until now—will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left,” says the Lord.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Stop looking at yourself, and stop posturing for attention. Look to me for what you need, and look for me throughout your day. Open your eyes and see my activity. Listen for my voice, for I am speaking. My words are often lost amidst the songs, ads, screams, and horns. But if you seek me, you will still hear me.

Your actions matter. Your actions can breathe life into hurting people and hope into the hopeless. And your inaction can be dangerous. When you do nothing or ignore those around you, you become self-centered, and your heart begins to harden. Your spirit loses its sensitivity. Your ego swells, and all you can see is yourself. I want to give you a vision for the world. I want to provide you with eyes to see beyond yourself. I want you to dream dreams for those who despair and invest your time, heart, and money into others. When you do that, you dismantle your kingdom and build mine. My kingdom will last forever.

NEXT STEP
The decisions today affect your future and those around you. Be wise and think about the future. Is there anything you should do differently today? Are there any ways you should think differently today?
