Isaiah 30

Isaiah 30:1-33

SUMMARYGod’s offer

OVERVIEWJudah ignores God and seeks an alliance with Egypt. Despite being rejected, God longs to show grace to his people.

BIG IDEASeek God’s wisdom, not the world’s wisdom.

KEY VERSEIsaiah 30:18 (Isaiah to Israel)
So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I offer you hope, direction, grace, and my love: I offer all of myself to you. Turn to me for support and guidance, and turn to me for all that you need. Whether your concerns are big or small, I am here and want to provide for you. When you repent and turn away from your sin and turn to me, you will find rest and salvation. When you seek my help, I will calm your chaos and quiet the noise.

But too often, you reject my offer. With great frequency, you ignore my extended hand. I know you receive other offers for hope and salvation. I know their proposals are enticing, frequent, and have enthusiastic support from others. My way is simple; it is not glorious. But my way is effective and sustaining. I will not reject you, nor will I abandon you. When you turn to me, I will be with you forever. So ignore the other offers and turn to me. Forget the past and focus on following me today and beyond.

NEXT STEP
Practice seeking God’s wisdom and direction today by saying a prayer before each decision—whether big or small, call out to God and wait on him.
