Isaiah 2

Isaiah 2:1-22

SUMMARYJudgment

OVERVIEWA day of judgment is coming where God will humble the pride and arrogance of humanity. As a result, everything people rely on will prove unreliable, for only God is trustworthy.

BIG IDEA: Judgment from the Lord is coming, and so the wise will seek and follow him today.

KEY VERSEIsaiah 2:22 (Isaiah to Israel)
Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. What good are they?

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I have plans for peace. A day is coming when weapons of war will be dismantled and recycled for peaceful means. I don’t want you to miss this day. I want you to be part of my plans. Walk with me. Follow me. Trust me. Do not be swayed by political leaders or overwhelmed by the news media. Do not stockpile for yourself while ignoring the needs of those around you. And don’t think you can avoid my judgment. Turn to me today or be judged in the future.

A day is coming when everything as you know it and everything you strive for will tumble down. Your fortress will not be as secure as you hoped, and your riches will not protect you from future destruction. But you do not have to live this way. You do not have to run with fear or nervously look over your shoulder. Turn to me now, and I will provide for you today and forever. Stop trusting human voices and listen for and follow mine.

NEXT STEP
Choose today whom you will serve. Recommit today to listen for and follow Jesus as he leads. Take time today—take frequent 30-60 second breaks—to be still and listen for Christ’s instruction. Follow him as he leads. If you do not sense clear direction, commit to being available and ready to serve as God leads.
