We have heard about proud Moab— about its pride and arrogance and rage. But all that boasting has disappeared.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Pride is dangerous. When pride consumes you, you live like you are god. You believe you are unstoppable and deserve to be treated separately from others. But I have set you apart and given you a high calling. Those are the truths I want you to live by. But that is not to be misused or misunderstood for your benefit. Instead, live with humility, thinking of others better than yourself. Then you are no longer the center of attention, and you can better hear my voice and my direction for your life.

Be still and listen. Stop shouting your instructions and your empty boasts. Nothing of eternal impact will come from your words. And any physical pleasure you attain will not last. Don’t let pride destroy you. Let humility guide you to me. When you follow me, you will discover it is the life you’ve always wanted. Dare to say ‘no’ to all the world offers and accept my invitation for purpose and fulfillment.

NEXT STEP
Lots of voices compete to get your attention. Separate yourself from the noise. Even amidst loud commutes or city streets, quiet your mind and listen for the still, small voice of God. Practice doing that 2-4 times today for 30 seconds to a minute each time. Is God prompting you in a particular direction?
