Isaiah 13:1-22

SUMMARYSuffering

OVERVIEW: The Day of the Lord will bring judgment upon Babylon and an end to all wickedness and evil.

BIG IDEAThe proud will be humbled.

KEY VERSEIsaiah 13:11 (God to Isaiah)
I, the Lord, will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their sin. I will crush the arrogance of the proud and humble the pride of the mighty.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
My arms are open wide for you and anyone who wants a relationship with me. If you humble yourself and turn to me, I will receive you. You do not have to clean up your act or make a payment or anything that the world expects. My way is different. When you recognize your sin and humble yourself by asking for forgiveness, I will forgive you. I will then teach you how to live, follow me, and deny yourself, so you do not fall into old habits. But that is a process. Some will experience instant change, while others require more time. But I am with you and empowering all who seek me.

Do not hide from those who are far from me. Seek them out and pursue a relationship with them. Share the good news of my love and tell your faith story. Let them see the real you, warts and all. Don’t pretend you don’t have a history of pain or a present struggle with temptation. But, do tell them about me and invite them to walk with you and follow me together.

NEXT STEP
Separate yourself from the ways of those who resist the Lord. Love them, serve them, and care for them, but do not emulate their lifestyle.
